Endeavors Counseling and the DeLand Family YMCA will host a Child-Parent Relationship workshop based on the Filial Therapy Model for parents of 3-to-10-year-olds from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., September 2, 2023, facilitated by Ella Sheperd, NCC, a licensed mental health counselor and founder of Endeavors Counseling, and Jesi Luxon, BS, an academic coach. They will also meet on October 7, November 4 and December 2, 2023.

This workshop is a grown-ups-only gathering at which to learn and practice techniques to identify, communicate and regulate adult emotions; identify, reflect and co-regulate a child’s emotions; set boundaries; and develop enforceable consequences.

Participants will have the opportunity to use these new skills with each other, share struggles and successes, and grow together with the support of two caring professionals. They do not have to be the primary parent or legal guardian to benefit.
